A nice example in cherry red with diamond pickups. An interesting guitar which has the serial number of the first Verithin shipped by Hofner to the Selmer company in 1962

An interesting guitar that has the characteristics of a 1962 model, but has a body date of 1961. Unfortunately the Hofner label has been torn and the serial number is missing. The tuners are not original.

Good bits: It works Original pick-ups
Not-so-good Paint work cracked in places The body needs fixing as the glue appears to have dried up on one side and the body has started to come slightly apart on one edge and the woodwork is rough. Not original machine heads The mother of pearl around the head of the guitar has missing bits.

This one has had some alterations. A clear perspex pickguard screwed to the body! Swopped out tuners and a compensator tailpiece from a big body Hofner. Odd screws suggest it had a tremolo at some time

From the owner

Below is an account from my cousin about this guitar and where it came from. :)

History for the guitar as I know it......... So far!

Was once said to of been owned by the producer of The Tube (mid 80's music show).

Then owned by an art teacher who left it in his classroom for students to draw, but usually abuse!

Bought by me in 1989, and fixed by old hat in 2014.

 

New tuners, a non Hofner tailpiece and an added pickup selector make this a nicley personalised Verithin
